Library
The Blairstown Elementary School Library Media Center contains approximately 9,000 materials in our collection, including books, e-books, interactive read-alongs, reference materials, and videos.
Every student from Pre-School to 6th grade comes to the library once during the six day cycle for a full period. A lesson with an activity is provided along with time to return and check out books.
Pre-school students can check out one book at a time. Students in kindergarten through 3rd grade can check-out 2 books at a time. Students in grades 4 – 6 can take out 3 books at a time. If a student has forgotten to return their books, they can still take out one book so they don’t leave the library empty-handed. I ask that overdue books be returned as soon as possible, since another student might be waiting for that book. There are no fines for overdue books, however, reminders will be sent home so please be mindful of due dates. If a book is lost or damaged, please contact me so we can arrange for payment or replacement of the item.
Adjacent to the library we have a publishing area with 15 desktop computers and a printer that students can utilize. Teachers can sign up for their students to use this area as well as our two computer labs.
